Chief Health Officer – Keila A. Brown

Having proven herself a skilled provider with exemplary managerial skills, The Family Health Centers of Georgia, Inc. (FHCGA) seized the tremendous opportunity to promote Dr. Keila A. Brown from Chief of Ob/GYN to her current role as Vice President and Chief Health Officer (CHO).

Dr. Brown graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and her Medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Before joining FHCGA in 2006, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Emory University School of Medicine and served as an OB/GYN physician and CFO at Peniel OB/GYN and Women’s Health Center.

Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Brown also belongs to professional societies including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the National Medical Association. During her residency, she conducted research and published papers at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine, both Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Brown was honored with an Honorable Mention placement for Best Teaching Resident in 1999.

In her new role as CHO, Dr. Brown is responsible for grant writing ensuring all locations have adequate provider coverage and making sure that all FHCGA locations met the high standards of quality and care. Dr. Brown also oversees all clinician staff to make sure everyone is meeting nationally established quality measures.

While her new tasks in the role of Chief Health Officer keep her occupied, Dr. Brown still finds time to treat patients as an OB/GYN, which she’s pleased she has the opportunity to do because she loves taking care of patients.  Dr. Brown’s mission is to make sure that patients see FHCGA as a provider of choice and not just a provider of last resort. She wants all patients to feel a connection to FHCGA with its warm and friendly atmosphere. FHCGA provides extensive primary healthcare services from behavioral to dentistry to general pediatrics to filling prescriptions in-house. FHCGA is a one-stop shop where patients can get exceptional treatment and save time.

Hailing from New Orleans, Dr. Brown is a diehard Saints fan, but also has a love for the Atlanta Hawks and Braves. A married mother of two young boys, she and her family are very active in sports activities and enjoy trips to visit family in New Orleans. Dr. Brown is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., volunteers at her boys’ school and is a member of Impact United Methodist Church.
