abbot_fullLinda G. Abbott is the Vice President of Operations and Human Resources for The Family Health Centers of Georgia, Inc., a federally qualified community health center. As a member of the organization’s executive team, Ms. Abbott is responsible for the daily operations of all center locations, recruitment, retention, training, employee relations, counseling, credentialing for all licensed and certified staff and personnel administration of 110 employees. She manages the following departments: certification, facility (courier, cleaning, security), operations, appointments, and human resources, which comprise of 15 staff members. She is responsible for the establishment and enforcement of procedures, policies, and control systems, which serve as monitoring tools toward the achievement of specific objectives of the organization. As a member of the board of directors’ personnel committee, she develops the personnel budget for the center.

Ms. Abbott has been committed to improving the quality of life for the less fortunate all of her professional life. She has more than 30 years of experience in the health care field. During these years she has planned, developed and implemented many innovative programs and projects that directly impacted patient care. She assisted in the development of FHCGA’s communication and computer systems. She was a key member of the architectural team that designed the organization’s new 41,000 sq. ft. Main Center facility. She also played a key leadership role in the organization receiving its accreditation from The Joint Commission.

She has been actively involved in the development of the communication and computer systems for her present organization, was a member of the architectural team that designed West End’s new 40,000 square foot facility and a key player in the accreditation of the facility. In her past position at Grady Memorial Hospital (Georgia largest public hospital), she developed payroll, the operational and capital expenditure budget for the Maternal and Child Health Department that was in excess of $30 million dollars. Monthly, she assumed total administrative responsibility for this 325-bed hospital.

In addition to her responsibilities at The Family Health Centers, Inc., Ms. Abbott served on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club and Project Youth. She also served on the advisory board for Publix Super Markets. Her personal and professional affiliations include the National Association of Community Health Centers, Georgia Association for Primary Health Care, ADHEC, Society for Human Resource Management and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Ms. Abbott delivers multidisciplinary training in human resources and operations management each year and provides consulting services for community health centers and private healthcare organizations nationwide.

She received her BS degree in Biology from Clark Atlanta University (Clark College) in Atlanta, GA and her MS degree in Management from Troy University in Troy, AL.
