Year Round Event

Pediatrics Engagement

Now that your baby is on the way, it's time to think about his/her healthcare for the next 18 years and beyond. Our "Babies First Connect" program invites our pregnant patients to meet our pediatric providers. Once you deliver, we will send you a congratulations package. When you bring your baby in for his/her first pediatric visit, you will receive a gift welcoming your little one to our family.

Seniors Welcome to Medicare Campaign

Through our "Turning 65 Never Looked so Good" program, seniors who are turning 65 are encouraged to schedule your Welcome to Medicare Wellness Visit. Our provider will review your medical and social history. You will receive education and counseling about preventive services, the appropriate screenings, flu and pneumococcal shots, and referrals for other care if needed. Best of all, it's FREE! Your Welcome to Medicare Wellness visit is covered by your Medicare insurance at 100% with no out-of-pocket cost.

"WhiteCoatConnect" allows you to connect with your provider without leaving the comfort of your home or job via internet access on your computer, tablet or smartphone. It's a great way for you to save time and money. Telehealth visits can include lab test results, behavioral health management, medication management, skin conditions, prescription management, and family planning services like deciding on the best birth control methods for you. We also advise you on proper treatment for coughs, stomach aches, ADHD or ADD treatment, and managing chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

"Sounds of Good Medicine" is our annual fundraiser & community health awareness event to provide healthcare to underinsured/uninsured patients. Proceeds from "Sounds of Good Medicine" help us remain on the front lines of healthcare services to people who are insured or underinsured. Held annually on the Saturday after Labor Day, the concerts have featured renowned jazz artists, Rochelle Ferrell, Najee, Jeff Lober, Jonathan Butler, Michael Franks, Euge Groove, Peter White, Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Paul Taylor, Maya Leaks, Kirk Whalum, Vincent Ingala, and Phil Perry.

Breast Cancer & Women's Health Engagement

"Pink Positivitea" promotes our Women's Health, OB/GYN & Family Planning services, as well as our cancer programs. We acknowledge our breast and lupus survivors with a day of games, music, refreshments, pampering, health education, and health screenings. The event is free to our patients, along with your family and friends. We partner with organizations like the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen and Northside Mammogram Mobile Unit to provide breast cancer prevention, education and screenings throughout the year.

National Sight Day

October 12, 2023

National Sight Day, held annually in October, brings awareness to our Family Vision Center. We encourage you to visit our vision center, meet our optometrist and vision team, try on the latest and greatest affordable eyewear, and make sure your vision is at 20/20. Children who receive services in our pediatric or dental departments during the month of October can enter a weekly drawing and a grand prize drawing at the end of the month by visiting our Family Vision Center.

Our annual "Holiday Hope" event is our patient appreciation toy drive-thru for our pediatric patients who had an office visit in the calendar year. Children ages 0 - 10 receive free toys and books to help celebrate the holiday season. Santa, along with our team of FHCGA elves, are on hand for pictures, refreshments, music, and a jolly good time.

New Year, Due You

January 2024

Our "New Year, Due You" campaign encourages seniors to get your annual physical during the first quarter of each year. Your Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) is a yearly appointment with your provider to create or update a personalized prevention plan. This plan is designed to prevent illness based on your current health and risk factors. Your visit includes height, weight assessments, blood pressure checks, and other routine measurements.

Go Red for Women

February 2024

The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women's heart health awareness. It brings awareness for our women to take charge of your heart health and the heart health of those you can't bear to live without. Making and keeping a commitment to your healthcare are not things you have to do alone. We care about our women and are here to help you experience a long and prosperous life.

National Children's Dental Health Awareness Month

February 2024

February is National Children's Dental Health Awareness Month. Children who receive dental services during the month can enter a weekly drawing and a grand prize drawing at the end of the month. We provide our pediatric dentistry patients with dental care packs. In addition, our pediatric dentistry team provides great dental tips for healthy gums and great smiles.

National School-Based Health Care Awareness Month

February 2024

National School-Based Health Care Center Awareness Month is the traditional awareness month for School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs). We celebrate our successes and raise awareness about how our SBHCs transform how your children access healthcare services. Through our SBHC locations, we bring healthcare to the schools, where your children already spend most of their time. When health and education come together, great things happen. We aim to keep your children healthy to learn.

National Dress in Blue Day in recognition of Colorectal Cancer

March 2024

On National Dress in Blue Day, we bring awareness about colorectal cancer and ways to prevent it. With proper screenings, this cancer is highly preventable. Our team wears blue to honor everyone who is impacted by colorectal cancer.

Mental Health Awareness Month

May 2024

Every year during the month of May, we raise awareness about mental/behavioral health. We help fight the stigma by providing support, education and mental/behavioral health treatment. FHCGA's behavioral health team provides confidential individual, group and family counseling to children and adults. We offer in-person and telehealth appointments to improve our patients' and our community's mental/behavioral health outcomes.

World Asthma Day

May 2024


On World Asthma Day, we wear gray to raise awareness about the causes and effects of asthma. You can control your asthma and avoid an attack by taking your medicine as recommended by your provider. You and your FHCGA provider can make an asthma action plan so that you know what to do based on your symptoms. When you control your asthma, you can breathe easier, be more active and sleep better.

World Hypertension Day

May 2024

Each year FHCGA celebrates World Hypertension Day, a day dedicated to highlighting the importance of monitoring your blood pressure and bringing awareness to high blood pressure. Hypertension is the number one risk factor for heart disease, stroke, renal complications, and premature death. Our healthcare team helps prevent and manage your hypertension by monitoring your blood pressure regularly and providing proper treatment.

Wear BLUE Day is a time that FHCGA encourages our male patients to reflect on their health choices and become more aware of health risks. Our boys/men are more likely to skip health checkups than our girls/women and we want to change that.
